The Federal Road Agency "Uprdor Vilyuy," subordinate to Rosavtodor, announces that due to the prevailing hydrometeorological conditions and the late onset of subzero temperatures, the tentative date for the start of operation of the winter road is December 25, 2018.
The opening date for traffic on the winter road may be subject to change, as it directly depends on weather conditions.
The winter road passes through the Irkutsk Region (Ust-Kutsky, Kirensky, Katangsky districts) and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (Lensky, Mirninsky districts). It belongs to the III technical category of winter roads, with a total length of 836 km.
